Hug in a mug. Beverage of choice, that I really should drink less of. Liquid motivation. Three o’clock pick me up. And concealer.

And speaking of good coffee, if you are ever on Maui, please go to Belle Surf Cafe in Kihei for me. The owner, Marion, is a friend, she’s French, and makes some damn good coffee (she mailed me some. C'était délicieux). And crepes. Yum.
I also might have designed their logo ( it’s also on my mug pictured above), and can’t wait to see it all in person. Everything sounds amazing. Especially their affagato, which I asked Marion to share the easy and simple recipe on this blessedly caffeinated day:
Belle Surf Affagato
Ingredients: vanilla ice cream, espresso, chocolate sauce (homemade is the best), and cinnamon.
Directions: Scoop 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream into mason jar or desired small glass. Pour a double espresso over the ice cream. Top with chocolate sauce and cinnamon.
Yum.
Yet another excuse to get my butt back to Maui soon…
